As I drove home from a delightful trip to visit friends in Eastern Washington, I observed two storms, one behind me (the large cumulous clouds in the first and last photos) and one in front of me, an ominous bank of rainfall, with multiple lightning strikes visible from a distance. I wondered if I would be able to miss it. Alas, it hit me with its flank, driving rain, heavy wind and multiple lightning strikes directly overhead. Fortunately it only lasted about ten minutes before I was able to escape its outer reaches. There were more very heavy winds further down the road, but the rain pretty much left me alone after that. It was a poignant and worshipful experience to view these and multiple other scenes before darkness veiled my view and the night sped me home.
